The workhorse of the Caribbean, the Bark is a sturdy coastal merchant and fishing vessel ranging from one to three masts. Unglamorous but dependable, it was the ship of opportunity for buccaneers who couldn't find anything better — and the Spanish often armed them as armadillas to hunt those same buccaneers down. One of the most famous engagements of the era pitted buccaneers in canoes and pirogues against three Spanish armadilla barks.
This hand-sculpted resin hull captures the rugged character of the period. Minor variations between models are a natural feature of the casting process.
