Blood & Steel is a skirmish level game set during the reign of Queen Victoria. It focuses on combat at the fringes of larger battles and is based on the same mechanics as Blood & Plunder and Blood & Valor, but with key changes that makes it a different gaming experience. The following conflicts (and force lists) are included:
- – 2nd Seminole War (United States & Seminoles)
- – Mexican American War (United States & Mexico)
- – US Civil War (Union & Confederacy)
- – 2nd Taranaki War (Great Britain & Māori)
- – Anglo-Zulu War (Great Britain & Zulu)
- Spanish American War (United States & Spain)
Miniatures not included with rulebook.

Great production value with inspiring pictures! The rules are clear and concise.
Unlike blood and plunder, which takes a major financial investment to play, blood and valor and blood and steel are both relatively inexpensive to get going in. I really like the initiative rules in blood and steel. I think that will be an important part of the game and something that sets it apart from other games. The small units are great for skirmish games. My group and I have recently gotten up the Seminole wars so this rules set comes at a perfect time and its scale of play is perfect for the Seminole war encounters. I am not sure I like the attrition point system. In most games players like to play to the bitter end, hoping for a miracle sometimes, so having to call the game based on attrition points seems anticlimactic. I look forward to playing this game more. I have already played a lot of blood and valor and hope this game is just as fun
